LiveEO today announced the launch of enhanced Wildfire Defense, delivering an unprecedented level of visibility into fuel conditions, vegetation dynamics, and fire potential across utility networks.

Building on LiveEO’s proven capabilities in vegetation management and wildfire prevention, this release gives utilities the tools to gain deeper insight and act faster in mitigating ignition and spread risks. Wildfire Defense builds on LiveEO’s Treeline software, already trusted by some of  the nation’s largest utilities. The software interfaces with Technosylva, which has set the industry-standard for wildfire propagation modeling.

Wildfire ignition and propagation are increasingly influenced by fuel build-up beyond the right-of-way (ROW) and fast-changing weather and moisture conditions. With this new release, LiveEO empowers utilities to proactively manage vegetation hazards along their assets, enabling collaborative, data-driven fuel management across public and private lands.

Key New Capabilities

  • Fuel Load Distribution Mapping
Visualize how combustible material accumulates along spans to identify critical hotspots and prioritize the areas most likely to sustain or intensify wildfire spread.

  • Fuel Moisture Monitoring & Fire Potential Tracking
Access regular updates on vegetation moisture conditions, using satellite-derived data to anticipate flammable conditions weeks before and during fire season.

  • Integrated Fire Index Layers
Overlay and merge third-party fire danger indices with Treeline’s vegetation insights to gain a unified, real-time picture of wildfire potential across your grid.

  • Span-Level Prioritization & Workflows
Rank, sort, and prioritize spans based on wildfire risk, enabling teams to generate immediate work orders for urgent hazards or schedule long-term vegetation projects awaiting permits - all in one workflow.

A Complete View of Wildfire Readiness

This release marks a major step in helping utilities move from reactive to proactive wildfire risk management, combining vegetation and fuel data in one actionable platform.

“Wildfire behavior has changed. Utility strategies must too — and they can no longer be reactive. Effective wildfire prevention now requires an understanding of how fuel and weather interact over time and aligning among multiple stakeholders to reduce wildfire risk,” said Eve Egdmann, Product Manager at LiveEO. “With these new capabilities, utilities can prepare weeks in advance, coordinate across agencies, and make confident, data-driven decisions that protect both people and infrastructure.”

LiveEO’s Wildfire Defense complements its flagship vegetation management product, Treeline, and supports utilities in building safer, more resilient networks through AI, satellite data, and proactive prevention.
